Does Medicare Cover Acupuncture?

Yes, Medicare covers acupuncture but only if the following conditions are met.

• Must be for treatment of chronic low back pain that have lasted greater than 6 months.
• Acupuncture providers must be a doctor or another health care provider, like a nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant, who must have a current and active acupuncture license. Independent acupuncturists are not accepted by Medicare at this time.

Unfortunately, we DO NOT accept Medicare and Medicare Supplement plans due to the listed requirement above. However, we will accept Medicare Advantage Plans, which may provide coverage for acupuncture services that extends beyond the coverage provided by Original Medicare. Cancellation Policy

We ask our patients that have scheduled appointments to be mindful that our clinic requires 24 hours notice to cancel or change an appointment. This allows us the time required to offer those appointments to other patients in need. Any late cancellation or no shows will be charged with a $50 fee.
