I am happy to say that Dr. Hu has done a great job to relieve the ear ringing problem I have had for years. The treatment is on-going and I am happy to report great progress up-to-date.
With continuing treatment our goal is to eliminate all the ear ringing and settle into a schedule that will keep the problem under control. I thank Dr. Hu for her service and would certainly be glad to have my family and friends see her for any acupuncture needs. Dr. Hu is dedicated to the health of her patients and provides professional and friendly service.
ErKang Hu uses acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to treat all types of pain as well as other ailments ranging from asthma to insomnia. Besides traditional acupuncture, she also uses cupping, a type of acupuncture that stimulates acupoints with suction. Occasionally she will run a barely noticeable current through the acupuncture needles to fight pain by stimulating the nerves. I have found her treatments to be both helpful and pain free. Her offices are modern and the herbs give the waiting area a very pleasant licorice-like aroma.
I am 74 years old and have been on estrogen therapy for the past 33 years. In October my Doctor asked me to take 1/2 the dose for a month and then stop taking it. After 10 days I was miserable. Profuse night sweats,problems with sleeping and some mood changes. I went to see Dr Erkang Hu. She listened to my symptoms and developed a plan. I took acupuncture treatments two times a week and a herbal medicine two times a day. This coming week I will have one acupuncture treatment. I am completely symptom free. No night sweats,I sleep well and I feel good. I do not take any estrogen so I no longer have the stress of being concerned about the serious side effects of estrogen. I thank God for the friend who recommended Dr Hu. She is truly a knowledgeable, caring,gifted healer. I will tell any women I meet who is on estrogen about Dr Hu.

I went to see Dr. ErKang not knowing what to expect nor how much help I could really get from acupuncture and Chinese medicine. I was suffering from an inflammation of the thyroid which made me lose weight extremely fast despite a huge appetite, prevented me from sleeping well, made me unable to concentrate at work, and worse of all, changed my personality in a really bad way. I chose Dr. ErKang because I did not want to be placed on a conventional western treatment, which has a lot of bad side effects, and because my husband had been treated by Dr. ErKang some time before for a severe work-related dermatitis that was extremely stubborn. Amazingly, after only 3 weeks of Chinese herbs, his dermatitis had disappeared (it had been plaguing him for months and getting worse!). It hasn’t come back for the last three years.
At the Kang Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine Center, I started with acupuncture and Chinese herbs, but soon discovered that for me, it was the herbs that made a difference. Thanks to them, within three days, I felt better than I had in the last 6 months! At last I could function! At last I could sleep! I took the herbs very dutifully four times a day at first, then three, then twice a day for six months (they aren’t so bad, and you get used to the taste anyway), and after a while felt like I could stop when the summer came (I was traveling, so I needed to stop!) Unfortunately, with the return to work in September (I am a teacher), and its accompanying load of stress, some unpleasant symptoms started bothering me again, so I decided to go back to the herbs. And again, within three days, I could tell the difference! I now sleep soundly, work extremely efficiently, am calmer and more patient, don’t need to eat tons of food and drink water all the time, and the best indication that I am indeed doing better is that I have started to regain my normal weight. I cannot stop the herbs right now, because I am afraid symptoms will return, but the way I see it is that I am giving my body time to regain its balance, and helping it with these herbs. Without them, I would not be able to function, or would have had to turn to western medicine and its long list of debilitating side effects… There are no bad side effects with these herbs! Dr. ErKang is indeed a very knowledgeable acupuncturist and herbalist. I highly recommend that you turn to her if you have a problem.
I first knew about Dr. Hu from a friend who like me has suffered years of infertility and unsuccessful fertility treatments. I was going to embark in vitro fertility treatment and she suggested that I visit Dr. Hu to prepare my body for it. My friend was lucky enough to get pregnant with Dr Hu’s treatment and did not have to undergo IVF treatment. Dr. Hu prescribed Chinese medicine and acupuncture to help my body purge all the impurities from my reproductive system and prep my uterus for the procedure. The acupuncture treatments were very relaxing even though I was really stressed by all the doctor visits and hormone injections. My fertility doctor even commented that the lining of my uterus was extremly thick and unusual for someone with my condition. I felt that I had Dr Hu’s treatment to thank for that. The day of my implantation, Dr Hu came in the clinic just for me to five me an acupuncture session. I truly felt that I had a successful pregnancy and gave birth to two healthy boys because of all the work that Dr Hu did to prepare my body for the IVF.
Since then I have visited her for all kinds of treatment from bell’s palsy, injury from an auto accident and back pain. If you suffer from infertility and is thinking of seeking treatment, I really think you should give Dr. Hu a try. I know she has helped many other women who went through the same agony as me with great success.
